COPENHAGEN HOUSE

Located in a former customs house overlooking the waterfront, the building—originally designed by architect Kristoffer Nyrop Varming in 1937—retains its classical modernist architecture, providing a striking backdrop to our club’s interiors.

The approach to design was to thoughtfully merge vintage and modern elements, celebrating both the heritage of the space and local Danish craftsmanship. The main club area is a playful yet sophisticated environment, furnished with carefully selected vintage pieces, including a traditional Danish banana sofa in the Harbour Room upstairs. Handmade pleated lampshades by Helene Blanche and curtains from the Kjellerup Væveri textile mill add warmth, texture, and a distinctly local touch.

Art plays a crucial role in shaping the House’s ambiance, with a curated collection of works by local designers and artists, including the renowned duo Elmgreen & Dragset, fostering a creative and inspiring atmosphere.

With a deep respect for the building’s historic character, our approach to design ensures a seamless balance between past and present, embracing a modern Scandinavian sensibility to create a unique and inviting setting.
